Vostochny Cosmodrome · Amur region

Four days at Russia's
newest cosmodrome

Vostochny was built from nothing in the Amur taiga: clean assembly halls, a heavily automated launch complex, and Tsiolkovsky, the town that grew up around it.

Four days at Russia's
A Brief Overview

Baikonur is history; Vostochny is what a spaceport looks like when it is built today. Everything here is new — the halls, the pad, the roads, the town itself. Launches are rarer, but groups are smaller and you get closer to the hardware. You fly to Blagoveshchensk; the rest is ours.

What Vostochny guests say

We were there, we filmed there—it was so cool! You can't really understand it just from hearing about it; you have to go and see it for yourself. We're really glad we got to experience it.

This tour will definitely be a memory I’ll cherish for a long time! Thank you for giving me the chance to visit the spaceport—on Cosmonautics Day, I was lucky enough to see with my own eyes how rockets are assembled and learn some interesting facts about the city of Tsiolkovsky. Next time, I’ll go with you to watch a rocket launch.

And to all you restless adventurers out there, thank you for the day we shared! Manned Angara, we’re coming for you!
